Some sort of mashup of this and the thing to the right. Aidan Cox kindly left some draws on the wrong bolts while doing his first ever route clean on “Troc”. Went up short a few draws, “up cleaned” and skipped a few to make it work. Quite the adventure!

2.5 hour approach, rapped into multiple incorrect crags, broken rocks, incorrect rope lengths, full bush bash/fence jumping exit and loads of laughs. Four star mega epic and that’s just the approach! Won rock, paper, scissors for the onsight attempt then punted immediately. Couldn’t even redeem myself on the second out! A lot bloody harder than I reckoned or maybe I’m just knackered! Either way it’s a rest day tomorrow!

Went for a red hot flash go with some beta from B1 and to put the draws on for JH in the morning, punted going for the break. Came back in the evening to finish it, expecting to put it away in one. First evening go was pretty crap, with the clouds parted and the sun baking down on me, it all started feeling too bloody hard. Got back on with 30 mins of daylight left and beautiful cool condies, went down with relative ease. Mega classic route, can’t wait to never go into/out of that hole again though!

First 27 in the mountains! 🤟 Tried pretty hard to get it putting the clips in, but fell off after the last bolt, heart breaking! Absolute limit for that last move, I chuck up a high heel/knee scum thing at the end and whichever side of my leg the rope goes it always feels wrong! Mega awesome/scary finale and a true grovel!

Was fighting bloody hard for a 23 onny. Absurd amount of chalk through the crux, probably retreated to the rest 3-4 times before committing to it. Crux sequence was awesome but probably just as hard as “La La Land” but I probably just didn’t find the easiest way?

Was gonna’ try for the onsight but saw Kwin pull some rad moves through the crux. She gave me a few pointer and I came up with a plan on the ground. I then decided to ignore all of that and do the opposite to make it feel more onsighty! 😂 Much like the other routes here surprisingly hard straight of the ground!

Loathe to log this. After a mentally shaky weekend of not really sending anything this one was my “sure thing”. Had done all the moves before and felt very doable. Backed off putting the clips in as my wrist felt tweaky on a sloper. Taped it up, went again DID THE CRUX chill as, got a no hands knee bar mid traverse, then just chickened out right before the chains. Didn’t have the beans third go. Something about this climb always results in a shite trip.

Went up twice, once to put the draws on for Caroline Chang, then again to clean. Wish I hadn’t! Got totally flash pumped on the onsight found a seeping pocket, rope fell down a hole, etc. The second go didn’t feel any more enjoyable tbh! No idea why this one gets the stars, least favourite route at “VDL”.
