Ascents as trad by Gavin having Distinct route

Climbed the first two (linked together), then ran out of light and had to bail. Some beautiful moves and some dodgy rock, a bit more of a mixed bag than expecte really. The first pitch was quite classic, but the second sucked really. Will be back to check out the upper pitch later.

Always thought this was meant to be dodgy, but it was lovely and sustained. Slung the tree to make the start safer.

Some nice moves but really its a sport route with run out bolting. I inspected on the way down and decided it would go fine on the bolts. Whilst there are gear options it's not really far from the bolts so wouldn't help the runouts much. Spicy top out as is usual at the point

Another of the so called mixed routes at the point. Nice climbing up the arete with an interesting reachy crux. If you're solid at the grade its a sport route. If you're not, you can place #2, #0.5 cams and a thread to remove the (safe enough) runouts. But why you'd place 10 mostly close placed ringbolts only to leave a couple gaps is beyond me.

Rapped to the first anchor, then down and up climbed the lower section on top rope before starting the arete. The lower section adds nothing, don't bother.

Lots of roof action and rather hard at the grade. I had planned on doing this to get a shot on squeekeasy, but it got so dark by the time i was up claire couldnt even follow.

A bit unsure on the line for this one. I touched golden fleece at its crux, but didnt find much of a line that could completely avoid it. Hope i hit the right thing

Bit of a one move wonder on slippery feet, bring your smearing shoes.

A lovely line, with a few technical sections. I dont think its harder than the entertainer, but maybe more insecure.

Not a lot to say really, a nice enough warm up. Fer de Lance is by far the better line

Really lovely jamming in the second half of this one. The first half is nothing special, but totally worth it to psych you for the last 15m.

First pitch is nice. Second was a lot of faff, less than ideal accent, but entertaining

Its good, but honestly the best parts are part of psychopath. Worth doing if you're already here for the main line.

Really enjoyable climbing. Hard at 19, but good moves and perfect pro. Not really sure why you would do judas with the original finish, this is the obvious way.

Proper adventure mixed route. Two bolts to stop you dying and the cams in the break are probably ok, but it felt very heady, exciting.

Great hand jamming, just a shame its over so quick. Rain didnt help with the ascent, but still got it done.

Some loose rock, but some lovely moves in a glorious chimney

Very nice bridging. My guide has it at e2, but e1 is probably fairer.

What a line! Pumpy but no hard moves. Mega.

So far the only climb here i thought was an actual 3*. well worth it.

Mega classic for a reason. Long beautiful and lots of thought provoking moves. Better atmosphere than you might expect from cheddar.

Hard to read and delicate to climb, a very nice route. Had to complete in two laps due to urgent bathroom duties

Not many cracks this sustained in the area. Wouldnt standup to the jamming in some places, but good for a fix.

Engaging and interesting, if a bit dirty. Did it as two pitches, which may not be ideal, and the top pitch with only one #4 is indeed exciting

Guidebook gives this E1, but honestly its softer than other HVS in the area.

What a line!

Mega line, great moves, slightly marred by being able to skip the offwidth on face holds.

Luckily i decided to get daphne to rap clean so i could also lead it. So worth it. Great moves, great position, brilliant.

P1 Quite exciting and harder than it looks. Very smeary, and it's not over once you step around. Went up and placed high gear then led it clean, might be back to improve my style and to do the top pitches

Excellent. The first mixed pitch is a pretty rare style in australia, and the top two pitches each have a rather powerful crux through wild terrain at the grade

A really nice lead, great rock and moves, but i'll never understand the bolting or grade.

The only supplementary gear that would actually be useful consists of two #4 cams. But either way theres a couple of spots where a fall would drop you on a small ledge before falling onto a bolt a meter below. With the addition of two or three bolts it would be well protected sport. As is its just runout sport, but not a real mixed route.

As for the grade, theres no way the boulder goes at 19, its about 22. If you aid past then its probably only 17/18 from there. So how do you grade it? "17R Sport Batman start" might be fair, but it seems ridiculous.

Came back to get it with crack gloves, those jams do hurt
