Ascents by Rob Medlicott having Distinct route

Vanessa convinced me to have a burn on this and i'm glad she did. Pretty well cruised it, placing the draws, Felt great!

Pitch one: Dogged, great climbing and lotsa small holds and tricky feet. Probably my fave pitch at Bare Rock so far. Pitch two and three linked to belay Paul at pitch 4: grabbed a draw on the tricky sideways slabby crux on pitch 2, then secon'd pitch 3 clean (felt likegrade 20/21), great pitch!

Yew! Skipped the last bolt and got it done.

Woo! Got the moves sorted on the first burn, with some beta from Chris. Then had a good crack and sent on the second shot! Great little route!

Fuck yeah! Continuing a good run of sends! Put draws on, then smashed it! Stoked for my 2nd 6 in consecutive weeks!

Finally got this done, first go today. Friction felt pretty good and i felt better too. Now i can move on!

Fuck, this thing took too much skin! It was wet and horrible this morning but cleared up and i got it done, eventually.

Decided to try the small hold beta, instead of jumping and it makes it sooo much easier. Second go today, 3 all up. Probably soft

Woo, did it for my warm up today. Completely unexpected in this heat but felt pretty good. First 26 in ages!

Yes! First 26 in the mountains! Didn't expect it due to being tired but i managed it today, stoked!

Yew!! No expectations on this lap, due to heat and tiredness but when i got there, the new sequence went so good! Would've sent it weeks ago, had i worked that out.

Rad! First 26 in a while and it went without too much fuss, this time. Second shot, after draws on.

Wooo! Sent at the end of the day, after making various mistakes on previous attempts. Felt great to climb it well on the last go. 4 shots today and 3 previously

Second go today. Thought i was gonna do it putting the draws on but got gassed. Pretty happy to do it 4th day on and tired AF.

Spent the morning adding a bolt to my project and then tried to get this on my warm up while placing draws, no dice but got it on the next shot. So much fun in such few metres!

I was frustrated on the project and decided to try and flash this, after watching Ian on it, sooo close! Nailed it second shot, solid 25/soft 26? Really cool flowing climb though, rad fun!

Great, techy little route. Just latched the glory jug with fingertips on the second go, for the tick. Unexpected and pretty happy!

Was looking for some empty wall space and this was pretty much all i could find. Couldn't work out the crux on this.

Thought i'd have a look but i couldn't hold many of the holds, so i dogged past a lot of it. Will come back when my wrist is better.

Another go up, now that the crowds have dispersed. Draws are on, hopefully get it done before I leave.

Yep, its a great route and yep, its solid! That low crux is so hit and miss for me, i have to give it everything to get it. Everything else goes though, just need to be efficient. Hopefully get back a little stronger and fresher, next time and maybe give it a run for its money

Not a fan of this route. Don’t think i ever will be.

I found the holds through the low crux, quite sharp and painful on minimal feet, which made them hard to pull on. Otherwise, it's really good.

Thought i'd have a crack, seemed pretty hard and pumpy.

Decided to have a look, while i was in the area. Couldn't figure out the start

3 more shots today. If i can stick the pocket, it will go but my accuracy just isn't there....

3 working laps. Burly start and steep pumpiness to the top. Some linkage on the 2nd and 3rd shots . Will take a big fight but i think i can take it down pretty quick.

By this stage it was too hot and I couldn't pull on the crucial crimps. The rest was fine though so will go with friction.

Crux felt horrible today. Too sweaty.

Pretty good but couldn’t string much together. No fitness! Vanessa ticked this today, to add to her impressive list for 2018.

This thing is an abolute classic steep climb. Had a couple of plays, working out some beta. Hopefully it will stay dry with the impending rain this week and i can try to send it.

Had a bit of an epic, with the sun shining straight down the route at about 4pm. Couldn’t see holds above or footers below and was climbing with my tail between my legs. Didn’t manage to stick the crux but i will be back in better conditions.

Faarrk! We both should’ve done this today but we took too many goes to work out all the good beta and both fell off the top. I managed to rip 4 holes in my hands across 4 attempts on the route and left some blood behind, sorry. Will go next time.

The climbing is pretty good but the crux is nails and I’m not super fond of dragging my rope around a big traversing corner.

Great boulder problem in the middle, big spider near the anchor... Not enough juice to go again on this today

Thought i might get this today but no go. Hot, slimy and lack of reach at the crux. Maybe when it's cooler

Trying to work some moves but the spooge was just silly so i cleaned it up for Earsman to try to send.

Another go up this but the pocket still hurt my wrist! Didn't stop me from trying the crux a heap of times though!

Bailed off this one at the 3rd bolt, due the wrist again. Might need to rest it and strap it up. Feeling pretty good otherwise.

Lloyd accidentally sandbagged me onto this for a warm up, thinking it was 22. I learned fast that monos are not consistent withgrade 22 climbing and not idwal for warming up so I came down

Painful undercling at the start hurt my wrist, so i ditched it.

Was hoping to enjoy this but everything i touched broke....might need some more cleaning. Bailed

Remembered my beta for the crux but hadn't really sorted the approach footwork so i failed miserably, haha. Another one to come back for, another day.

Tried the first few bolts, didn't have much fun.

Just had a play on the bottom. Found it quite painful but pretty cool.
