Ascents by Mark Gamble having Distinct route

Very soft for the grade; I've done 10s that were as hard as this.

Bit scary above the 3rd FH, had to run it out to top. Dave belayed but couldn't second.

That rarest of beasts: A KP onsight! Typical KP lead: plenty of ledges to bugger yourself up on. Dave belayed & 2nded.

Started on this one as a warm-up. Very nice, it flows and Gareth has made it quite safe. Daniel belayed & 2nd'd.

Bit of a contrived line but OK as a beginner climb. Matt Wilson belayed & 2nd'd.

JJ belayed - he had asked Geoff & I to lead these & confirm the grade he'd just given it. I thought it a bit stiff for the grade, but maybe I missed some holds here & there?

This is a great line, spotted by Lee. The clips are in exactly the right places. Ben belayed, 2nd'd, then Red Pointed it himself in style, his 2nd 14 I believe. Well done!

First bolt is a bit of a stretch, but it's all good after that.

Good move at the top.

With Nick. Probably TRd it at somepoint in the past. Top bit is committing.

Climbs nice. Just gotta stare down that first bolt.

With Justin. Quite a bit of lose rock on it, but still nice moves. With some dedicated avoidance of the crux move, I thought it was more like a 14. The direct line would probably be a 17. A tad overdone with 8 FHs.

Spicy move 2m off the deck, the rest is straightforeward. Terry belayed & 2nded. The last climb of the morning & a bloody hot and sticky one too.

One of my first leads at KP, after Crap and Malcontent.

My 2nd ever lead. Went pretty smoothly. But then again, I knew little fear back then, ahh the cockyness of beginners!

My first ever lead! Craig belayed. It all went pretty well. I had a sense of intensity, but not freaking out or anything like that.

It's cleaned up a lot in the intervening years. Pretty pathetic effort. Got stuck at the 4th bolt.

3rd'd Jake & Graham up this one. It's a nice outing, comfortable at the grade I thought.

An honest 14. Trachyte, rather sharp in places. Fab view from the anchors.

This one i could manage. ADD is definitely a grade harder.

Felt pretty easy on TR.

4 rests, one quickdraw grab. Should be ready for Whistling Kite next week.

The first move is the crux. Too friggen critical. Very commiting, very dire consequences if one doesn't make it.

That first bolt is rather high & committing. Not for me today.

Don't know how on earth I onsighted this back then, very thin crimpers.

Ran out of steam.
