Ascents in Kangaroo Corner

Much less snappy than Delusions of grandeur but still requires care and has possibly lost some little edges. Used the carrot as a hold for the traverse bit near the start, but could do clean after that. Think Cédric accidentally deviated onto the left route after the first few bolts but seems around the same grade and style anyway. Good if you like this kind of thing.

good if you like face climbing I guess, roof move was my favourite. Climbs are surprisingly clean for how little traffic this crag seems to be getting.

Heaps good fun for me, cracks and only tiny bits of scary slab. Linked P1+2. Should have led last pitch as well instead of letting Cédric do it and complain about choss all the way XD There are a few loose blocks but nothing untoward for the Bluies.

Linked the two first pitches, it is really nice. Quite sandbag for a 14.

Marked as the best 20 in the blueys, the lower part of the wall got seriously damaged and is now full choss with big blocks dropping everywhere.

Being an easier grade it was possible to avoid the loose rock breaking away and continue up the line. Nice line. Quite run out though 😂

As I started up the rock seemed a bit better, but then realised I was breaking off all the crucial holds. The fire has obviously destroyed the right side too.

The slab in this area must have been baked during a bush fire. The face is sooo chossy with rock coming away like layers of onion. Too dangerous to continue past the first bolt.

Really enjoyed this route.

1st pitch is easy enough. I led 2nd pitch and I would easily give the off width crux grade 18.

Nice climb, a shame the start moves don't go for longer. A few cruxy moves higher, but they are protected by a bolt.. Only need a single rack.

A lot of bolts on this wall, and not sure how good they are - but didn't end up using any trad gear. Some fun slab moves!

Great climb, Louis linked pitch 1 and 2 up. And I did the last pitch. Some nice moves, but would be better if there wasn't jugs next to the crack on pitch 2 Last pitch was definitely fun with a good squeeze and then traverse.

Best route of the day. Linked as 1 pitch. Excellent consistent slabbing with a crux pulling a mini rooflet right up the top. Took a full single rack, placed 1 purple...

If this is the "best" 20 slab in the mountains. Then quit climbing slab in the mountains and go climb 20th Century Fox. It's way better. The start is tricky slabbing. And there are way too many different lines of carrots. Rather confusing.

A good start, into a mediocre everything else.

really enjoyed this climb. loads of good protection. the hand traverse was memorable. the lead climber linked all pitches together

couldn't find any gear placements. so just did it as a slab sport climb. bring extendable draws for the first 1/2 of the route.

Great adventure across the wall taking the easiest line.

Lots of different cracks that just keep on coming.

Nice delicate & crimpy slab moves. I fell off at the little pockets where the route diverges from Black Magic (crux?),

Basically now a sport carrot route. A #1 friend is comforting to reach 1st bolt, maybe also a small hex for final traverse move to DBB. Nice slab climbing once the route goes straight up.

Andy flew off the 3rd pitch traverse in the cold, dark eve! 3rd pitch a bit of a classic mountains offwidth grovel to exposed traverse under roof. Did p1&2 as 1.

A hold looks to have come off the crux at some stage - definitely grade 15 now.

blurgh. wolf spider in vacant bolt hole and flying ants at the top added to the 'experience'.

A sand bag at 15 even. I think something large fell off that would have made it 13. Not ever worth 5 stars...

very thin, balancy and a little tricky, did as a single pitch. Definitely more 20 than 18.

This climb has everything except a roof! Starting in a crack/offwidth/chimney, onto slab, then finishing up overhang.

Sandbag at 12. No good reason for it to be so runout, considering the protection is crappy mild-steel bash-in carrots (costing $0.60ea from Bunnings)
