Description

A short compact wall at the base of the Gilbys Gully Rap.

Access issues inherited from Red Point

Must Rappel into the crag/ climb out, no decent walking access has been found.

Ethic inherited from Red Point

Very minimalist crag in terms of bolting and access. Take care, keep the crag clean because we only get one chance.

Grade Route

Short corner and fused crack. Start: 5 M L of Radar Arête at track level. At base of abseil rope descent. Pitch 1: Up cnr, cams, up wires and small cams to fixed rap point/belay. Bruce Cameron Brad Cameron 16/6/13

An interesting route with lots of little corners!! Better than it looks. Start: Yellow crack 15 M R of DOC. Pitch 1: 12M (12) Up corner with good cams move R to tree on ledge. Pitch 2: 28M (12) Up orange weakness on L, up corners and up L to cams/belay at base of hanging cnr. of TBC. Pitch 3: 15M (6) Up scrambling L to small wall and tree belay. A varied route with reasonable rock and protection. Start: At flake with roof above, 10 M R of The Putty Road. Pitch 1: 12M (17) Up thin flake to wide crack capped by roof. R to BR, R to exit crack. Up with cams to tree on ledge. Or do P1. as for TPR at 12. Much nicer. Pitch 2: 18 M (14) Up orange sloping thin crack cnr. Up past fern, back L to join TPR, belay above finger cnr. Pitch 3: 10 M (16) Up R on orange rock/scoop to FH, [crux] R, 3 M across weakness to fused cnr. BR and small/med cam belay. Pitch 4: 12 M (8) Up to ledge, up to hanging cnr./flake to trees. Great hanging cnr. on good rock. An alternate finish to TPR. Start: The obvious steep hanging cnr. at the top of TPR last pitch. Pitch 1: 12 M Up steep cnr. easier as you go. Tree belay after slot. Brad Cameron, Tom Gilbert, Bruce Cameron 8/6/13
