Description

Tcharkuldu is a camping and rest area just off the Eyre Highway in South Australia. It is famous for Tcharkuldu Rock, which is a granite rock formation just off the highway.

Approach

Accessible by car via the Eyre Highway.

Where to stay

The surrounding area is a large park which allows camping (suitable for tents/campers/caravans). It has a gas BBQ with seating, the "Outback Dunny" toilet, and a small shack with a fireplace. There is also accommodation in the nearby towns

History

View historical timeline

First recorded lines were by Simon Dyer and Mike Dixon in 2009, but not much information is available other than some route names and grades. Some additional routes added by Ben Dickson in 2020 - some of these might potentially be duplicates of the 2009 lines, so if anyone knows details of feel free to merge them
