Ascents of Caves Route

Had a hard time initially finding where to start but once you're on its an excellent time. Bring plenty of water during those hot summer days.

Car to car in 39:14, up caves, tagging summit and back down bushwalkers. Curious if there’s a standing speed record, didn’t feel super fit so I think some mutant could make sub 30.

Fun lil ramble today. The old hiking boots weren't as treacherous as they usually are. First time to the top.

Highlight was nearly getting assaulted by some bogan wigged out by my vocal cords yelling out 'rope' instead of his own. Will be open carrying the hexes next time for peace of mind.

This was really enjoyable, chimney wasn't as big as I thought it would be.

Someone painted ticks on all the holds on the climbing sections, not sure if it always been like this but definitely takes a bit away from the experience.

Cruisy "climbing" but beautiful day out. Sun was brutal

Robbie drove to ol Tibro, me as a passenger. We were greated by a hail storm, and hid under the train bridge for a few minites. More cars arrived, and we hit the climbers carpark. Lead climbed P1 and P2 of Caves Route, slinging trees, in approach shoes. Didn't feel confident to lead P3 without 'climbing shoes'. Bailed for an early finish. Simul rapped for kicks.

Great fun!! Accidentally left my favourite prusik at the bottom of the last abseil fleeing the mosquitos.

Down climb free solo from the top of Ross Miller Route. Def the way to go. A little spicy in a few sections but nothing unmanageable

pretty cool and amazing that non climbers get to the top of this. that first ledge out of the cave was incredible, i thought it was pretty exposed

Finally done caves route! Picked a pretty good day to roll up to tibro at midday. The start of caves was pretty soppy and honestly a little hows it going unroped, but the wet rock subsided quickly. Got lost on p2 and roped up for rachs debut trad lead. Luncheon in the big cave. A hobby guide cruised up past us and took us under his wing. Our trioship broke when he decided to stop for a bundy at the top of the chimney. We continued up, checked out the beautiful mine from the summit and then headed back to the GHM 'Tavern' - a rebranding has occured clearly. Jarred Liv and Justin joined us for a bev.
