Summary

Remarkable Ridge is on the southern start of the Remarkable Fault line.

Description

Located on west Leichhardt station, about an hour drive from Mt Isa. The ridge can be seen from the road as a long fin. Rock is a mixed granite. Potential climbs range from 15m up to 40m. Currently no bolting is found on the crag although top rope is possible using trees etc to set up an anchor system. The crag currently contains a lot of loose rocks. The face is shaded in the afternoon.

Access issues

Permission from west leichhardt station must be attained.

Approach

Access through station road just after small creek. Turn off to Crag is on the left, going towards Lake julius, about 37km from the Barkly highway on the Kajabbi/lake Julius road. 2km down the dirt track, to reach the southern edge of the ridge. The ridge can be accessed by a larger 2WD. 10-15 minutes bush bashing to get to the base.

Camping by permission of west leichhardt station only.
