Ascents in Flange Buttress having Beta

So good. Been on the list for a while, stoked to get the flash! So many cool moves and perfect holds. Yay!!!!

Nefarious is always fun; and a little bit nefarious!

Stoked! Almost dropped it when my foot slipped and for a second I forgot one of the non-cruxy sections. Super cool route with really nice flow!

Two attempts at pitch 1. A fall very low in the first one and a (surprising!!) fall at the very top on the second one. But what an amazing pitch of climbing. Wish I was good enough to try the second pitch too. Hopefully next time.

Beautiful and classic! What an intro to the pipes. But Em and I only did pitch 1 as it was her 're-introduction' to trad multi-pitch after a long hiatus, and pitch 1 delivered enough adrenalin, after which we were happy to come down, haha... Looking forward to come back to do the top pitch.

I will redo this someday with better style staying away from the corner. Great line done as one pitch.

Probably one of the best settings for a 50m arete, don't forget to enjoy the view!

Very thin after the second bolt. Couldn't work it out, lost interest, gave up

One of the best trad days of my time here, we started at about 4pm after some stressful scrambling to get up there, as we ascended we got to see the city in day, then in sunset, then in the night as the last of the light escaped topping out. Fun 50m rappel in the dark was adventurous, thankfully we both had our head torches. Such a beautiful area and a wonderful day out climbing! HB Liz

Pulled up the stick clip from a stance and placed a draw, pretty sure that’s still an onsight @rob watson pls confirm

Some nice moves once in the stemming groove. The 9 th or 10th bolt’s nut was quite loose. I finger tightened it, worth bringing a spanner

Couldn’t get through the crux so only tried 60% of the route. Fantastic. It just keeps going haha.

Such an incredible line, and it keeps going up into the heavens. Lots of good rests, delicate and with committing moves high above bolts. This was my third attempt, with my first one back in 2017!

Nice and sustained. Don't recommend the direct exit, was pretty awkward finding jams amongst the vegetation.

So glad I didn't drop this right at the end throwing the most awkward and desperate heels to mantle. A marathon, but bloody lovely.

Couldn't figure out the crux on the first go, so had to red point.

Second go. Really good route, not as classic as its big dog neighbours but still really great movement in a really stellar position. Don’t sleep on this one!

First spice girls trad adventure🥹so so scary (I’m definitely not used to the height or exposure yet!!) but sooo amazing! Taking out gear is kind of fun! Although perhaps not for cams that have walked and take an hour to retrieve, but Slabby saved the day!! Also made me realise exactly how impressive trad leading is (and the people who do it eg. Spicy!). To me the climbing felt harder than it objectively was (except some of the body chimneying, like the top of the 2nd pitch, which actually felt hard!) because of the cool 3d movement and exposure! The step-across on the second pitch felt like a particularly epic move! I hadn’t abseiled in ages but it was thankfully less scary than I remembered, maybe because of the tin whistle serenading?

Awesome day on such a fun route with the spice girls for my first multi pitch! Epic struggle with a stuck cam on p1 was the real crux

Screw your head on tight. Bolts are spaced but the falls are safe.

Hell yeah! Got this one second time around. Absolute perfection in rock and route so much fun. Was a good challenge and it felt incredible

Well this was a fun reintroduction to trad! Loved the loose blocks and the amazing views and exposure on pitch two. Good fun

Great technical climbing on slabby crimps and incuts, a little run out, spooky trying the cruxwhen you're a meter and a half above the bolt.
