Ascents in Sloth Area having Beta

So wet, almost impossible to hang onto the holds after roof #1. Pumped out trying to rest and couldn’t pull the long move. Had a hang and sent. Fun route otherwise.

Very wet, eek. A bit more run out than the others, esp in the wet.

Lovely steep climb - not clean today though. Can’t see why this is still graded 16! There is a big hornets nest just below and left of the bolt below the first rings.

As above, works well staying on line, rather than straying left in search of holds.

Works well staying pretty much on the line rather than hunting the neighbours for holds. Beware, very definite ledge fall potential. Clipping holds are good enough, but don’t stuff it, and make sure your belayer is ready to yard.

Brilliant route, in three distinct parts, with diff styles. One for the all round climber! For me, and Jordi, the crux was in the last part, on the slab, desperate. The first 2/3 are solid for 18, the last bit felt way harder.

Awesome route. Only just made it, was sliding off the jugs. Then the flared jams, fun times.

Starts pumpy then backs off just enough to keep you pumped. Great climbing

First actual attempt at an onsight… got stuck in one spot about halfway up (?), otherwise a very fun climb

Tough at the grade and not the best warm up, but excellent climbing.

Excellent fun, test of will for me at the end of the day to stay at it the whole way up. A couple of crux moves then just sustained slab.

Epic line. The step to the right and the following moves were pretty cool. Sustained climbing in the black streak with a steep finish. Felt longer than 18m though.

Will get you pumped if you fumble around looking for good holds. Fortunately for me, Mark went first and provided the beta. Lovely!

Too pumped to deal with the crimps through the first couple of bolts. Lovely line.

Again, first one of the party on this and went too direct over the last bolt. Easier if you move right a bit above the anchors for The Sloth. Great climbing.

First route of the day. Found the first steeper section tricky. What with the length, potentially a bit stiff for the grade?

Defo 18 if going direct on bolt 4 which is fun, go left at that point for 15'ish moves and to contribute to erosion of the ledge with tree and orchids.
