Routes as sport in Gate Crag

Left most route on left wall of central buttress. 25 m left of Oberon, walk through vegetation then up to base of this sector. The route is just right of where track meets wall

2m right of RS. Veer right to seam then back into groove to anchors

Up juggy arête left of chimney, or grovel up chimney if you would rather after clipping first bolt. Step right across gap then traverse delicately under roof to finish as for GGHB.

Right of chimney on left side of wall. Start high enough to reach horizontal crimp, then up scalloped arête to flake, through roof to arête finish under orchids

A right hand start to GGHB to roof, then up to shared anchors. Thin wall climbing past 2 bolts, easier if you're tall!

Boulder a short orange wall, past a bolt, below the roof. Straight through roof, passing 2 more bolts to double ring lower-off

Up to the left of the cave in the centre of the wall. Through small roof avoiding orchids, then mantle up to easier finish

Climb over orange cave, over roof and up vague flake, passing 5 more bolts to lower-offs

Climb wall past cam slot to bolt above roof, then follow the arch passing 3 more bolts to lower-off. Stick-clip the first bolt to make this a sport climb or, for full value, boulder the initial wall past the cam slot.

Start at the flake, being careful of the ironing board. Essentially a variant start to AMND but with good new climbing. Anchors above small roof. The climb will feel easier if you are taller, especially the finish.

1. 10 m 13 the left most route in the sector slab to small ledge DBB

2. 15m 13 up blocks then ledges DUBB. Possible to walk off right from here

3. 15m 13 head left from belay then up past chain, left across slab and up short wall to semi hanging DBB. It’s 30m abseil direct to ground.

Rebolted. Old small bolts still visible. Be careful of tree.

The arete right of Avalanche, steep start.

Just left of chimney to DBB

Bridge the chimney with bolts on right wall

Slightly contrived up centre of next buttress with moves to left at second bolt, then back right.

Straight up just left of arete, to flake finish. The bolts on Spider Lair suffice or just top rope it.

Up right side of arete passing scoop. Balancy.

Up wall to flake feature and DBB

1m left of chimney and large sandy overhang. Move left to DBB or top out

The south facing wall right of the chimney past 3 RBs to top out to shared anchors

On the outside of Sandy overhang, rebolted on FHs. Anchor back on block, can scramble up from right to clean long slings, or abseil off. Tricky start, then step left and up arete.

Hard start for the grade, easy middle. Lost under vegetation, probably best to leave it there. Original Rusty bolts.
