Routes in Pacific Ranges for selected grade

Climbs the easternmost of the three major south buttresses of Combatant above the col. Approached via a bench at the elevation of the col (the Shelf)

One of the most technically challenging and committing lines in the Range, this massive route climbs the entire southeast pillar of Mount Combatant from the Tiedemann Glacier far below.

Broken by the subpeak of the Incisor and the ridge of the Jawbone, followed by the Toothless Tower and the final headwall, this is a huge undertaking that took the talented first ascentionists 8 days to complete.

Climb the black, lichen-covered depression in the south face, following corner systems to the east ridge, then to the summit.

Descend the pocket glacier to the base of the southeast buttress. Climb this buttress, through sandy broken terrain and with poor protection in places in the first ~75m. Above this, the rock improves up a steep yellow slab to a small gendarme. Descend into the notch and climb easier ground above to the summit.

Descend as per the West Ridge (down that route.)

Sport/trad

Start up the ramp before moving onto a gently overhanging face. Very tricky, technical moves lead to some fun jugs in the middle and a crimpy crux that guards the top.

Route furthest left, climb the face and through some balancy overlap

Start as for Xodus, but follow the diagonal fault from left to right across the wall to finish on Horrors Of Ivan.

Climb right of Mr. O'clock past a bolt. Move into the Horros of Ivan cave; finish above on good but spaced pro.

Shares a start with The Whinging Wife but continues up straight

Up The Burglar to the rest then straight up the crimpy headwall.

Climb Where Art Thou Romeo to seventh bolt. Move left and finish through a shattered alcove. Technical low down with a devious, committing crux at a midway roof.

The early crux that feels like a board problem is followed by fun, steep pulls to the anchor.

Climb the Crying Game, just before the anchor break right and climb the steep inside wall of the dihedral executing a crux sequence up to and around the arete, finish up the hanging corner above.

Climb "Carmel" and continue traversing right to the end of the wall.

SR from #1 Met to #3 BD (optional #4 BD), 2x #1 BD for pockets

Difficult climbing past three bolts leads to an easier crack/groove. Follow it to a face crux. Jam a strange but solid #1 BD in the horizontal and head past a bolt to a small ledge. Fun climbing up and left (another #1 BD in a slot) into a layback finish up an easy crack.

SR from #0 Met to #2 BD, 2x #1 Met

Climb past the first three bolts of You Sunk My Battleship. Once reaching the groove, step right onto a big hold and climb up and right through a bulge to a ledge (small cams). Continue rightwards to a bolt and then straight up to a small roof. Pull the roof, easier with trickery, past three bolts. Move back left on big holds to finish up the final layback crack of You Sunk My Battleship.
