Summary

Nice climbing by a quiet beach. A few nice routes for a short day of climbing. Easy comfortable parking & walking distance. There is a project for more routes to be added in 2020 by a local guide.

Description

Driving from Nafplio, follow the road to Drepano and then Vivari. Pass through Vivari towards Kantia. About 1,5km along the road from Vivari you’ll notice a sign to Kondyli (Agios Nikolaos) beach on the right side. Follow down this winding road to the beach, find a parking spot on the left side and start walking along the shore for about 5-10 min until you reach a small pebbled beach overseen by a seaside chapel. Be aware of mosquitoes and large insects as there are swamps near the first 6 harder routes (on the left side). Consider wearing a pair of athletic shoes and long pants even during the summer months, to stay protected. All routes after Excitation seem to start from within the sea! Consider a way to keep your climbing gear safe and dry!

Approach

Within walking distance from the parking lot on the beach. Just head towards the far-left side of the beach, towards the small seaside chapel of Agios Nikolaos.

Where to stay

Vivari is a nice little town to stay. A lot more quiet than Tolo. Drepano might be an option as well. Excellent climbing sectors in Nafplio with easy access from Vivari, if one prefers a quieter environment in the evenings; otherwise you can always stay in the popular Náfplio.
