Ascents in New York

New yellow lead with big donut and big handle, kind of crimpy, was slipping off at points

A few crux moves. P2 was a bit wet, and I went over the angled overhang instead of through it.

Above first tree was wet and slippery, so we bailed (and returned blue Metolius locker to the wild).

Rested once. Could probably have flashed if it weren't so dark and I could see the feet. 😢

Led with some pre-placed gear but backed up some of it and added my own. Not as bad as CC Route. Belayed follower from above.

Pretty difficult. Wouldn't want to lead yet. We used the big ring for belay and rappel, but don't do that. Go higher and there is spot for gear anchor. Big cam isn't necessary, but is a good idea.

Such a mess. Couldn't do 2nd move. Stupidly thought I didn't need big cams and left them behind. Had belayer send up two C4s on accessory cord so I could finish it.

My first ever outdoor ascent! Added a bit of a traverse that started farther out to the left before making my way up the chimney. I wasn't initially trying to go up the chimney, but all of a sudden I was inside it lol.
