Searching for routes

Hello everyone, I have noticed a lack of agility when searching for a specific route inside an area where there are multiple subareas. If you don’t know exactly in which subarea the route is located you must either enter each one of them to see the content, or do a global search (in the whole world). Why is there no option to do a simple search inside a specific crag?

Hi Alberto,

I agree that the interface is a bit confusing, but actually, if you are using the search field on the top right while you are on the index page of a crag with subareas, you are actually triggering a search where the hits in the currently visited subarea are put on top of the result list.

Example: if I go to El Salto; C.d.G. and I search for "virgen", the first entry in the "Routes" section of the result will be Las perlas de la virgen, while on the world level, the first result will be La virgen del felpudo.

Thanks for answering Christoph Rauch - this is correct, change the "search location" by clikcing on the tree on the left or the crumb trail in the black title bar. Details are explained here: - check also the animated GIF

Alternatively you may search via the advanced search form. On the areas page klick on the number of routes and you get a list of all routes in that area. Here you may apply different filters. In your case the route name.

It would be good to be able to search using the route's grade. For example: 'Silence 9c' would return only 1 result instead of all the routes with the word silence, or 'Searching into the Light V12' etc.

Yes, I know you can do that in the advanced search, I'm talking about doing a normal search

Too many funny names for that to work reliably [;

I bet you have that for each grade style.
