Description

West-facing medium height (15m), slab to vertical, bolted sport climbing cliff in a wilderness valley in the Blue Mountains National Park near Springwood.

Some of the rock is red/brown, gritty, coarse grained and has both conglomerate and ironstone edges. There are several other broken and short cliffs for further development should anyone be keen and not mind the walk.

Approach

From the end of Farm Rd, Springwood, drive 1.7km down the dirt road and park at the Martins Lookout carpark.

Shortly before the lookout there is a sign and map showing the Perch Ponds and Glenbrook Creek track network. Turn right here and descend into the valley along the footpath (not shown on Google maps) past several sets of steep rock steps and hairpin turns.

After several hundred metres the track slope reduces and heads right (north) through a heavily shaded Lillipilli forest with a cliff covered in moss and ferns visible uphill. At the end of this section there is a short left then right bend with a cairn marking the beginning of the cliff access track at approx -33.73339, 150.57286. Turn left (south) at the cairn and follow a well-worn foot track along the base of the cliff through a sandy orange cave about 200m to Spider Wall (high on a ledge), then Main Wall 100m further along.

Climbs are described left to right facing the cliff.

If you reach the creek on the main track you have gone too far.
