Ascents of Snappy Dresser having Beta

Been a long time since I tried this hard. Very cool route with a fun overhanging intro that is chill if you know the beta and can handle frogging on your feet to rock over. The real climb is the slabby headwall which is thin and very technical with a deep mono at one point and potential for heartbreak right at the top. I was close to coming off a few times. Memorable.

Bouldery start to then a technical slab, went first go putting the draws and figuring out the beta, and sent on second go.

Bouldery start, traverse left after 3rd bolt, then traverse right to 4th bolt until under 5th bolt then up, where the crux is, either jump or reachy to right jugg like crimpy hold or left up. Will come back

Fun little start, then some crimps a lot smaller than you’re prepared for after the jugs. Not as good as wet paint

I had a couple of uncertain moments on it but with some beta spraying, unexpectedly, it went the first go. Really good climbing.

Great route that doesn't really let-up at any point

2nd go. Super scary on the 1st go! Very nice. Techy. Hands-free rest.

Fell on the onsight attempt when I decided to elbow bump the wall. Second go was smooth, but I really had to pay attention to the technical moves on the head wall. Quite unique climbing.

So good. Off at the start then clean to the top. Great balancy climbing

Beautiful technical climb. Absolute classic. With right beta some decent shake outs are possible. Gave it 2 tries before and now second time sticked it on first attempt.

Fairly hard and physical boulder start - not for me!

Ok after an initial false start

First time I couldn't do the crux, pulled through and went to top, second time I was completely pumped by the crux and sat then finally managed to stick it after a bunch of attempts and went to the top to clean, felt very pumped/no endurance.

Also tried years ago and did not finish. Felt good today even at the end of the day.

Nice powerful moves down low. Felt incredibly bunched pulling the lip. Headwall was much harder than expected. Mono hold is great!

First go!

Bouldery start to a technical slab. Really enjoyable if climbed on your feet. Last move is a bit tricky if you are smaller. More fun if you avoid the no hands rest.

Very strenuous! Did not enjoy

Bouldery overhang start followed by nice sequence of crimps and jugs. Some good rests. Found hard to clip last bolt and had a big fall. One move away from the send.

Not quite enough left in the tank top rectify getting my hands out of sequence, then had a foot slip up high, one to return to

A bit of beta for the top helped (hint bump left) but a bit technical after a powerful start. Maybe slightly harder than wet paint.

Hard moves at the start to easier face moves at the top. Helped watching some other party have a go at the bouldery start.

Happy to onsight this, first day back in the mountains in 6 years! Had to commit to the mono clip and then keep the pump in check for the rest of the route.

Nearly knocked myself off the slab with my helmet. Very engaging the whole way
