Ascents of Cooking In Chernobyl as Onsight

Very fun line, probably a 19. There is a bit of a move at the beginning and then it gets very smooth

Beautiful route, but definitely not a 22. Comparing to routes at araps, would put it at 18/19.

Classic laybacking on a hollow flake; gear seems to mostly good; quite heady to smear on mossy holds; rests seems to be way too good; wouldn't get more than a 20 at Araps. Anchors on the left make more sense than the ones on the right.

Gear used:

• Single rack of the smaller cams, Doubles from 0.75 to 3 and a single 4.
• Set of wires
• Alpine draws for rope management

Great line. Strenuous climbing. Great protection.

Very attractive flake with some great layback moves, shame it wasn’t even longer.
