Description

Recently developed boulder area of which not much is publicised.

All descriptions published on 28 June are based on one visit, grades are wild speculation and all names are purely descriptive as it is probable that there are simply not publicised. Further additions welcomed!

Access issues inherited from Halls Gap Area

A low profile always helps to avoid too much attention from tourists and park rangers.

"Please do not add any routes (old or new) to this database for the time being."

Approach

From Halls Gap, take Northern Grampians Road then turn onto Silverband Road. From where Sundial Road turns off, continue 1.7km. Immediately after a sharp switchback there is a large clearing on the left of the road; there is room for at least three cars to park on the right at this point (GPS 37deg11'03.7"S 142deg30'31.5"E).

Cross the road to the clearing and find a small trail heading off towards the right. In a few metres this meets a larger trail; follow this upstream for about 50m until another trail crosses the creek and heads off to the right. After around 15 minutes boulders start to appear. It is possible to continue along the main trail until more boulders are visible directly downhill; find a small trail and head down to these.

Ethic inherited from Halls Gap Area

Bolting, is considered illicit, along with the rest of the park and other National Parks within Victoria. Only alter routes after considerable consultation with first ascensionests and local climbers.
