Summary

Gorgeous pink and orange rock in an idyllic setting of a perfect sandy beach and green scrub. A summer sunset session as the waves crash is perfection!

Description

Wyadup offers some classics of all grades in a beautiful setting. The rock is unusual for the southwest, being a much softer stone that is often chossy - but with iron bubbles running through it - giving rise to some startling features.

As the rock is quite soft - like sandstone - avoid climbing on it after rain and make an effort to preserve problems. Absolutely no use of wire brushes! All of the problems are easy to access without bashing through the scrub so please keep to established tracks (some are more obvious than others).

Approach

Park at the end of Wyadup Rd and follow the cape to cape south. The boulders will pop up on your right. The main area is furthest from the car park.

Ethic

Climbing is a privilege not a right – please respect the bushland and the rock. Where possible preserve the natural flora and keep to tracks to minimize impact. Clean tick marks and caked chalk with a good scrubbing (but no wire brushes). No chipping or gluing.

History

History timeline chart

Established by local legend Andy Lampard. Almost all the problems here are attributed to him - there are about 50 problems in total.
