Access issues inherited from Rocky Paddock Camp Ground

Total Fire Bans & Forest Closures

forest reserves are closed to the public on declared Total Fire Ban days and in areas where forest operations such as harvesting are being undertaken. Visitors should keep clear of logging operations and pay attention to all signage. It is recommended that visitors contact the Forest Ranger before visiting to obtain information.

Camping Notes

Camping is prohibited from 1 December to 31 March. The main access gate to the campgrounds will be closed at 4pm every day during this period.

Campfires & BBQs

Wood fires are prohibited within the forest from 1 November until 30 April each year. Gas fires are permitted during November and April, but not from 1 December until 31 March.

Wood for campfires may be collected from the forest floor only. It is an offence to cut down or damage standing trees or plants. Campfires are restricted to fires places located in campgrounds, picnic areas and at huts. Please conserve wood supplies by keeping fires small.

Start with hand on in-cut 2m left of Sanskrit Jug. Move right into Simon's Favourite and then into So Hum and Top Out. Can now be started from a sit on LH arete for some added value.

Sit start on LH arete. Move up then right to good jugs. Continue right into Simon's Favourite and finish up that.

FA: Aug 2022

Sit start on low jug 1m right of Left Arete. Make a big move up to good incut, the trend right into warm up line.

Sit start on incut just left of biggest jug break on the wall. Head straight up on big incuts to top out.

Use cut-in to rock to get up and start climb. Move along slopers and crimps at the top of the boulder with feet on low traverse hand holds. Follow along past weakness to a second higher weakness and top out.

Stand Start at the far left of the boulder on obvious jug next to tree. Follow the low traverse line to Simon's favourite start, then finish for Simon's Favourite.

FA: May 2021

[Eliminate] Traverse the wall starting either for 'Low Traverse' or 'Um So'. Traverse the wall L or R keeping your hands at mid-height using only the the crimp holds and not using the three prominent jugs. Top out as for 'Karma Sutra' or 'Sanskrit Sutra'.

FA: Petey Pete, 2022

Start on the obvious chalked jug head left and up on small crimps to top out.

Start on the Sanskrit jug, head straight up to top out.

Start on the Sanskrit jug, head slightly right and up on tiny sharp crimps. Top out

Start on the Sanskrit jug. Traverse right and up to small crimps or dyno to top out.

Sit start matched on large side pull. Trend slightly right and up to a sloping edge and small edge, then top out.

[Eliminate] Start as for Simon's favourite and climb it only using the 3 prominent jugs and jump up to the lip.

Dyno off the 2nd hold of SF to the sloper rail just below the top.

Sit start low in the prominent diagonal seam and climb up to the highest point before mantling over. Can also top out earlier about a grade easier

Start as low as possible in the weakness and follow it right until crimper is available on face. Move up to sloper or nearby sharp crimper, then big move to top. Do not use easy holds along weakness after moving right to crimper.

Start on the start hold of Um So and dyno to the betty top. Mantle out. Eliminate.

Eliminate dyno from two very small edges (bypassing bigger edge on right) to top. An old Seth project.
