Description

Lonesome boulder west of the creek covered in easier problems and a decent view - you can see clear to Uriarra village from the top of the boulder.

Know how to pull on loose/potentially loose rock!
The west side of the boulder has some loose sounding big blocks - you would not want one of these to come off with part of you under it. Some of these blocks are marked with symbols on the Binge Watch and Binge Direct topos.

Access issues inherited from Laurel Camp Rd

Dirt roads, but all 2wd usable if you are slow and careful

Approach

Best found with GPS assistance - from the parking further along Old Blackboy Road, head north along the old track for a few hundred metres before heading left up the hill still tending slightly north. The boulder is found a bit over the rise of the hill in grassland.

Ethic inherited from Pierce's Creek

Pierces Creek is primarily a bouldering area however a number of naturally protected lines have been established over the years. No bolting of routes is accepted. Instead, ascentionists use natural protection on the higher problems, or where that is not available, rely on mats, spotters, and gumption.

Stand start from arete and undercling and go straight up.

Stand start and up the big undercling flake, topping out direct.

The descent. Climb the shelf on the northern side then traverse the east face, topping out at the southeast corner.

Climb the shelf and go straight up.

Sit start at the juggy undercling near the tree. Move right and top out at the middle of the face. Careful of the big blocks (marked with on topo).

Sit start from the slopers below the big blocks, top out Binge Watch. Careful of the big blocks (marked with on topo).

Sit start from the ledge and head straight up the blunt arete.

Sit start and up the seam.

Stand start and up. A bit mossy.

Starting from the big blocks around Binge Direct, traverse anticlockwise without using anything on or above the break for feet and squeezing past the tree. Finish by topping out once you return to your start point.

Starting from the big blocks around Binge Direct, get your feet up to the break that separates the lower and upper parts of the boulder and circumnavigate heading anticlockwise. Head up when you reach the tree, trying to squeeze past is fairly desperate even with the branches poking you in the back for support.
