Ethic inherited from Auburn River National Park

Please consider washing your chalk off the boulders at the end of the day, especially at the areas close to the main tourist trails. Use a little water and a soft brush to help reduce our footprint and ensure we can boulder at Auburn for years to come.

Please remove any rubbish if found and practice leave no trace.

Several boulders are in this area with some nice beginner bouldering further out into the creek and some hard lines on the Thunder boulder under the bluffs.

This boulder is found directly under the small buttress. Beware that there is no easy way down from the boulder. The easiest way is other to rollover the side of Thunder Bloc and jump down or reverse what ever you have ascended as far as possible before jumping.

Sit start on awful crimp. Big move up the short face to mantle.

From the arete, crank left then up to mantle the groove.

FA: John Newby, 10 Aug

Same first move as Thunder Bloc, but then high feet and back right to the top of Forgotten arete. Was the first ascent on this rock, taking the contrived line of weakness.

FA: John Newby, 2014

Sit start under the arete and straight up with power and a prayer.

FA: John Newby, Apr 2024

Standing arete problem. Thin big moves with heel hooling trickery. Should go easier than 8.

This boulder may be walked past on the final approach to the Thunder boulder. It lies down in the riverbed just 10m away from it. The true names of this boulder and its problems have been lost to dementia so new names have been in-appropriately provided.

Sit start under the short overhang, swing right and easy mantle over.

FA: John Newby, 2013

Low start with two hands on the sloping rail. Tricky and may feel awkward and horrible until it is unlocked. Then goes with some very cool moves.

FA: Damo Rooha, 2013

These boulders are about 10m upstream from The Thunder Boulder. A great trad style line come out of the overhang and there is potential for more development here.

Hand jam, layback and bridge out from the back of the overhang.

FA: John Newby, 2014

The back of this boulder faces you when at the thunder boulder.

Easy to medium grade problems ready to be sent. Currently unsent due to obvious reasons.

50meters or so across the riverbed. Some nice easy bouldering.

Straight up on flat edges. Nice flow.

FA: Steve Hill, 2017

As the name says.

Friction and smears.

Slab with just enough height

Easier way up the short slab
