Ascents in Queensland as Retreat

This route needs an R rating, you can get two pieces of gear down low and then your next placement isn't until well above ground fall potential. The moves would feel easy enough on a top rope, but with the weight of your trad gear it felt super sketch.

Linked pitches 1, 2 and maybe part of 3 into a ~50m pitch. Ended up popping up onto the big ledge at the end of P1 of zeitgeist where a large party was waiting to continue up their route. Harry came up and gave the next pitch a go but after pulling off a large rock and the rest of the pitch not looking much better, he decided to down climb back to the belay. We figured that was enough fun for one day and bailed down zeitgeist. Not really sure what we climbed but figured this was close enough.

Very committing crux. Bailed right and sketch traversed to route anchor. Wouldn't call what followed an ascent. At least a grade harder than JAFKPR. Apparently fun on top rope.

Slab got the best of me. Positively outrageous route. Big thanks to Pete for the belay

Jumped on it after a lot of hesitation and, well, wasn't committed enough 😅 Only climbed about a meter before retreating (just enough to spoil my flash/onsight). I'll be back for it once the psyche is higher

Got to first, got rained on, down climbed.

Felt harder than any 25 I’ve done before. Still interesting moves. Keen to get back on it.

Don’t climb this route, highly questionable rock quality, im a big rig so naturally i pulled a lot of choss off

Josh went up and couldn't find a path up the wall. Then I tried it and pulled off a massive football sized rock off on the way up. I think maybe a hold has broken on the headwall, or maybe we are just shit climbers.

Hard crux. Had to retreat after a fall leading to an injury. RIP.

Will rise back from the dead to get back on this one.

Toughest 21 I have seen. Got three bolts from the top with several rests and couldn't work out the beta from there.

My first attempt at aid climbing. Got the first 2 pitches done, but ran out of time for the rest. I'll be back!

An epic slab climb. Managed to get to the first FH and bail. Managed to get all the gear back with some sketchy rope trick.

Jumped on to have a play on the crux move. Not feeling particularly powerful.

weird, some questionable rock and ;art few metres covered in lichen. Watch the ledges!

Start was interesting, middle section seems to involve climbing into “Death by Parsnip”, or a fairly contrived way that seems considerably harder (but not in a “good” way), didn’t fancy either so stripped it off the second last bolt.

Couldn't figure it out above 3rd bolt, took some whips and came down. Harder than 18 imo

Attempted this thinking it was Last of the Bunch. Got about half way and decided to retreat. Would be epic to come back for it one day.
