A small collection of sandstone boulders similar to Toohey Forest. The rock can be a bit rough and sandy but it cleans up ok and will improve with more brushing and traffic. This little spot is a nice afternoon out and a good spot to try if you're bouldering outdoors for the first time. Most of the problems but there might be a few more up for grabs.
The forest is Ipswich and Logan council reserve and has free access.
The areas deep in the forest are remote and have limited mobile reception. There is a maze of fire and logging trails throughout the forest and it is very easy to get lost. Always carry a GPS.
If you get hurt, lost or bitten by a snake rescue will be difficult and help will take a long time to arrive
Park just to the south of 344 Bellbird Drive, Greenbank. Walk west-north-west along the fire trail towards the nearest power tower. Near the power tower, the trail trends south-west and downhill At this the boulders are obvious from when looking north from the trail. The boulders are about 100m due east of the power tower
As for any bouldering area - don't chip. As this a new area, lots of cleaning will be required and loose flakes are inevitable - take care!
The area was found and developed by BenjiB in 2016
