Summary

2 nice blocs and a couple little ones. Home to "The Brush Turkey's Flight" boulder.

Description

2 nice blocs closest to the road. Access from Jennifer street.

Access issues inherited from Rocks Riverside

Some areas have been closed for revegetation for a few months now, please keep in mind and try not to create new highways.

Approach

Park on Jennifer Street, enter the park where the old pipeline columns are stood, swing a left past the nice low boulder with a tree growing over and shading it and head 25meters downhill max and you will find the 2 boulders there.

Ethic inherited from Rocks Riverside

It's probably best not to climb here immediately after heavy rain in order to avoid tearing the holds that are decent. Even when it is dry these boulders can be choosy. Try not to pick boulders that contain a layer of loose sedimentary gravel and check that the Sandstone flakes are not going to tear off before committing.

Grade Route

Fairly easy climbing but over an awkward landing, a little spicy throughout, take good spotters and 2+ pads ideally. Great little line with some length to it and a much harder start from the obvious beginning of this line yet to be done.

PROJECT - Start matched on decent crimp rail at the bottom of the boulders lowest point. A couple moves on desperate slopers and poor feet will bring you to the base of Aerial Turkey, then finish up Aerial Turkey for the King Line of this bloc. - Not done yet. Leave a comment if you get it first. - I suspect this line may have been climbed in the past, but no evidence on the crag or local guides. Happy to amend as necessary if someone has a claim!

FA:

Squat start under the small lip with the two crimps in the break, move immediately Left to cross from right side to left side face of the boulder then head up for the good but delicate flake, top out up the remaining slab. I suspect some of the holds on this may have been drilled some time ago, hard to be sure, if so it has probably been climbed before 2022.

A few years ago there was basically Frog Buttress and Coolum. Since then there has been more development than Barangaroo and South East Queensland should be on any climbers radar no matter what your style. Except ice climbing, definitely no ice climbing. But over 1250 routes with hard sport, multipitches and quality trad to make a great trip.
