The Molonglo River is a 115 kilometre long river in the Murray-Darling Basin. It originates around Captains Flat, merges with the Queanbeyan River, divides Canberra into north and south, and finally joins the Murrumbidgee River (between Uriarra crossing and Shepherds lookout, by the wastewater treatment plant).
These climbing areas are in the Lower Molonglo, downstream of Lake Burley Griffin.
Rock climbing and abseiling are permitted only outside the period 01 June to 31 December when raptors are breeding. See Molonglo River Reserve Management Plan 2019.
Did you know that you can create an account to record, track and share your climbing ascents? Thousands of climbers are already doing this.
