Ascents of Gas Mask

Best line at this crag for sure. 2 roofs, just a weird way to bolt

Not much going on in the first half, but the second half is excellent. Bolts are where you need them, but a bit widely spaced between the two cruxes.

Seconded Rory all the way up to the big Gumtree, racing the sunset after a nice arvo. Lovely reachy moves to pull through the cave, and the mantle/headwall section keeps giving too.

20 is probably a bit keen, though the further right you go at the cave the closer it would get to that grade...

As noted, lots of very loose rock above the cave, which really should be cleaned to protect the belay position.

Had a crack while lowering off one of the other routes. Strenuous but on very positive holds.

Difficult and balancy moves pulling out of the cave on slopers, and then a committing and reachy move after the final bolt. Fell a few times trying to get out of the cave.

End of the day, pretty tired. Fell from the cave about 3 times then cruised up the finish

Not quite clean - fell attempting a far right break through the cave

scramble up to the start of the real climb at the roof. good fun moving though. I stuffed the mantle at the end by heading too far left.

Easy up the bottom slab but it picks up at the first roof. The bolting is a bit odd but it kept the rope drag down.

Second visit to attempt the headwall, not as tired as last time and although I was psyched to get it, it just didn't seem that hard... Found a good bolt placement for the headwall so next time on lead might be a different story.
