Description

This is one of the many volcanic plugs in the area and is a very popular walk.

Access issues

The mountain is a national park. There are no access issues at this time.

Approach

Located roughly half way between Rockhampton and Yeppoon on Yeppoon Road. Large car park beside main road. Walk to summit is moderate and well worn but is treacherously slippery when rock is wet. Access track to cliffs is still in development.

History

History timeline chart

A few keen climbers have explored the mountain over the years but there is no hard information as to the location of routes. There is some good rock on the North facing cliffs and well worth development but more work is needed on a track to make access easier.
