Approach

Park at the pullout on the west side of the David Thompson Highway, just south of Peskett Creek (52.116980, -116.434823). Cross to the north side of the creek then follow the climbers trail on the ridge line along the north side of the creek. (Same trail as for 'Little Russia'). Instead of dropping off the ridge towards the creek as for 'Little Russia' stay on the ridge until you see green/yellow flagging tape which will lead you to the base of the climbs. (If you hit a fork in the trail, stay right)

Caution: This is a newly developed area, there is a high risk of rock fall from parties above

Due to the rock fall potential, it is best to leave your bags and gear up at the dugout on the trail just before the base of the cliff.

Start at the large tree with flagging tape.

  1. 15m, 5.3, 2 bolts

  2. 35m, 5.8, 9 bolts

  3. 35m, 5.8, 7 bolts

  5. 35m, 5.6, bolts

  6. 37m, 5.6, bolts

Descent

Rappel the route straight down from the top of pitch 6.

FA: Andrew Abel & Tim Taylor, 2020

This is a bonus 7th pitch that can be added to AA. Follow bolts up and left through this difficult traverse.

Be sure to have your partner follow and clean the gear as they go, as trying to clean while lower can be very difficult.

Descent

Rappel straight down from the top to the rappel rings in the corner. From here you can do a short rappel to the top of pitch 5 of 'AA' then continue rappelling 'AA'.

FA: Andrew Abel & Tim Taylor

2 5.8
3 5.7
4 5.6

14 draws required, would recommend some alpine draws. 70m rope (or two ropes) needed for rappels.

Start on the scree up and right of the dugout.

  1. 45m, 5.8, scramble over the scree to bolts. Continue left to better rock, then follow the bolts up the face to a station up and right.

  2. 35m, 5.8, start up and left then follow the ridge to the right up the the station.

  3. 35m, 5.7, follow the bolts, don't be tempted by the easier terrain to the right of the second bolt. Stay true to the route and step out left to make your way.

  4. 35m, 5.6, follow the bolts up easier terrain to the rappel station.

Descent

Rappel the route straight down from the top of pitch 4.
