Ascents in East Kootenays

This is listed as a 5.9+ in an old guidebook, but it seems as if there has been some recent(ish) rockfall at the roof which may have made it harder (at least 5.10b, maybe 5.10c, but it was also the end of a long day). Great climbing above the roof, did it as one long pitch then belayed the 2nd from the top.

Started this thinking it was '5 Fret Arret' as a warm up. But a few move into the 2nd pitch we were informed by a friend that '5 Fret Arret' was the line to the right and I was now leading into the unknown in my approach shoes... Turned out to be about 5.8.

Awesome line, but there is still a bit of loose rock, especially near the top.

Quality rock, good moves through the small roof section.

The routes are closely spaced, but I this did not find it contrived. Was not tempted to reach for holds on kamikaze. Route makes sense. sequency.

Not a bad climb. Actually, a pretty good time.

A little too close to 'trench warfare' on the right. Is it still legit if you borrow a hold or two from the neighboring climb?

awesome. keeps you thinking all the way up with tricky sections separated by decent rests, then a pumpy but incredibly fun finish

Hidden feet and pumpy made me loose the flash but got it second go

I think the guide book got this wrong. The grade is more like 5.12b Super hard, but ok

This route is fabulous. Climbing a 5.12 crack on bolts is the dream Super hard for me but I worked out the crux.... eventually. Top out is about as close to bouldering as I have ever done!
