Ascents in Revelstoke

Classic Revy with the unnecessarily high first bolt. But a really fun climb with a cheeky match.

A little balancy at the second bolt, and then a reachy crux move, but after that its jugs till you're home.

The very small holds and balancy moves needed between the 1st and 2nd bolt feels more than 5.10a.

Despite the first two bolts being close to the arete, the 5.10b version of the climb indeed starts in the left facing corner. If going directly up the arete its at least 5.10c, and there aint no clipping hold for that first bolt.

Really fun to find some reasonably graded climbing that requires a little crack technique in Revy.

First bolted route at Revi and a quality line to boot! Nice.

Beccy is crushing the steep stuff now. So good! She climbed this plus a 5.9 at the cliff plus a 10a and 10b the day before!

Guidebook suggests this is one of the best 5.10 pitches in Revi and I would have to agree. Sustained, steep, fun movement throughout and good rock. A great route anywhere in the world.

A great little morning outing with Bec. Such a beautiful setting and the first corner pitch is super nice! Soft for 5.9, 5.8 is more appropriate I think

This is all about the fun and exposed second pitch.

Dont let the name fool you. While the jugs are there, there are still a few moves that require some finnese to get through this climb.

And be warned that the anchors are a real pain to clip when you're pumped and even more annoying to clean.

A very enjoyable corner on the first pitch. But definitly only 5.8.

Very sad that I didnt take advantage of the lake below and go for a dip before starting the climb.

Route is called "The Beak".

Note that while this can be sent as a sport route, the runnout at the prominent beak is sketchy. That crack in the beak can really benefit from a BD #1 cam.

A great warmup climb that feels more exposed than you would expect at 5.8

The first move is frustrating (infuriating if its wet) and that bolt placement is just annoying. Be careful to not hit your belayer in the head if you take a fall at the first bolt.

Like many routes in Revy, the first bolt on this is higher than seems sensible. But the remainder of the climb is funtimes.

Got a little lost looking for bolts on this one. If you feel like that bolt you see out to the left is off route and a bit far away, you're right. The bolt you're looking for is just a bit furthur up the obvious line and hidden over a ledge.

Fantastic multipitch. Quite exposed for extra fun. Repelling to the start is also quite an experience although I suspect we used the wrong repelling point on second one. I've led all three pitches.
