Basalt

Incredible valley surrounded by cliff lines, high in the Andes.

Description

Valle de los condores is one of the best crags in Chile, with 100s of routes and potential for many many more. Both sport and trad climbing can be found here on solid basalt.

Access issues

Don´t get the car to the camping ground. The crag can be difficult to access with busses stopping 30km before the valley. You must have a car or hitch hike to access.

Approach

5-10 min

Catch the bus from Talca to La Mina hot springs. From here its 30kms more up the hill.

Where to stay

Camping is possible in the valley, but only in front of 'La Gran Pared', 'Pared Talca' or 'El Salto'. It is Absolutely NOT allowed camping in the other side of the river as the owner stipulated. Bring everything as there are no facilities or shops here.

Ethic

Take all the rubbish back with you! Toilet paper and cigarette stub too. Please respect the flora and fauna of the place. Don´t make fire in places which are not for it. Both Sport bolting and trad climbing exist, contact the local community before bolting or adding new routes.
