Annot has earned the reputation as the next big bouldering destination after Fontainebleau in France, if not one of the top locations in Europe.

Description

With its numerous sandstone problems, moderate climate, and easy access it’s easy to see why the area is getting so much attention. Whether you’re looking for a place to see if your winter training paid off, or just passing by on the way to another climbing destination, this burgeoning area definitely is worth a visit.

Access issues

Do not use any kind of metallic brushes on the boulders.

Approach

All of Annot’s boulders are located on the mountain of Argenton, which is approx. 2km north of town in the direction of Fugeret. A small unpaved road leads up to the mountain.

The Road is in a bad Condition (05.2019) Hike between 10min and 3h

Where to stay

Camping www.la-ribiere.com Free Motorhome Area in Annot (from the main square over the Bridge and a little bit uphill).

Ethic inherited from France

Park where indicated, take care of the environment, buy the local guidebook when possible (this is one of the ways you can help local route setters), clean up your shoes before climbing, don't spray beta, be polite.
