Summary

The tallest tower in the valley, and one of the first summit in the Frankenjura that has been climbed for the sake of the sport.

Description

The first ascent of the Brosinnadel by Fritz Brosin, together with students from Erlangen in around 1890 is one of the earliest known sport climbs (in the broader sense) in the Frankenjura. Brosin chose the short uphill side, the easiest route up. Later in 1914, the famous duo Toni Rockstroh and Georg Vollrath found a way through the impressive south west face, the "Alte Talseite", which is still the most climbed route here today.
