Ο λόφος του Αιλιά είναι το ψηλότερο σημείο της Κοζάνης. Λίγο πριν τα πρώτα σπίτια της μπαίνοντας από την έξοδο της Εγνατίας. Το ραντεβού των ερωτευμένων. Φιλοξενεί στην κορυφή του, το ομώνυμο εκκλησάκι και λίγο πιο κάτω τα γραφεία του ΕΟΣ Κοζάνης. Από μακριά δείχνει γυμνός αλλά στο βραχώδες τοπίο του φιλοξενεί πλήθος αγριολούλουδα και θάμνους. Οι ορειβατικοί σύλλογοι έχουν οργανώσει ένα πυκνό δίκτυο καλοσυντηρημένων μονοπατιών γύρω του. Οι ορθοπλαγιές βρίσκονται στις βόρειες και δυτικές πλευρές του. Στα 4 σέκτορς η προσέγγιση και το πάρκινγκ είναι κοινό στο πίσω μέρος του, στην παλιά εθνική Κοζάνης Γρεβενών, δίπλα απ την Εγνατία.

Αφήνουμε την Εγνατία στην έξοδο Κοζάνη. Στο πρώτο φανάρι (Κοζάνη βόρεια και Κοζάνη ανατολικά) διαλέγουμε τη νότια. Περνάμε απ το χωριό Κοίλα και στον κυκλικό κόμβο στρίβουμε δεξιά για παλιά Εθνική Κοζάνης-Γρεβενών, Βατερό. Μετά από 1χλμ, στο δεξί μας χέρι μεγάλος σταύλος αφήνουμε την άσφαλτο και μπαίνουμε στον χωματόδρομο αριστερά μας. Τον ακολουθούμε όλο αριστερά βλέποντας τα μεγάλα βράχια και τις κεραίες του Αιλιά και στα 500μ περίπου τελειώνει κι έχει άνοιγμα για πάρκινγκ. Συντεταγμένες: 40 18 44N 21 45 58 E. Από κει βλέπουμε πανοραμικά τα 4 σέκτορς. Αριστερά το πιο ψηλό οι Αγριοπεριστερώνες με συντεταγμένες: 40 18 57N 21 46 04E. Μπροστά μας η Αφροδίτη: 40 18 50N 21 46 09E. Δεξιά το 650: 40 18 37N 21 46 03E και πιο δεξιά στο τέλος του Αιλιά ο Τσουρτσουλιάνος (με το χαρακτηριστικό σχήμα του πουλιού τσουρτσουλιάνου, κορυδαλός δηλαδή): 40 18 35N 21 46 00E. Το κάθε μονοπάτι 10-15΄
