Gethna area or Athrani Gudda is only 60 odd km from the center of the city. ery easy access from the road, of about 300. The climbs are in shade for good part of the dayand the base is in shade.

The area was first developed for climbing by folks from GETHNA (an outdoor adventure setup that has local state government affiliation). Hence it is popularly referred to as the Gethna area, but technically the hillock is Athrani Gudda. There are five additional routes in this area, facing south-west, that haven’t been recorded here. Additionally, in 2017-18, Pranesh Manchaiah added two more routes on the west face of adjacent crag immediately to the south of this one. Again, not documented here. The crag comes up on the left, a couple of kilometers after a temple. As of 2019, the Bangalore-Mysore highway work is in progress, so the access details may change eventually.

• This short corner crack is immensely enjoyable. You can climb the first half of the Trap Rock Dreams onto the ledge, and then continue, on the corner crack instead of climbing the Sport line on the face. Belay from on the ledge.
