Ascents in Il-Latnija (Mellieħa Cave)

1x trying all the moves then 2 red point tries after but some slightly wet holds and me not being strong enough after a week of climbing mean I can only tick the hang dog. The route is awesome! Steep overhang on mostly jugs with tufas pockets and edges, lovely!

Holy moly! What a route. And what a cave. Must be seen to be believed. A big thankyou to Carolina for placing draws on this route. I managed a few decent moves in a row, and eventually got up with about 6 falls. Super fun, and super safe climbing. It's the limestone equivalent of Coolum Cave. Sublime overhung jugginess.

Mega Classic. There are two easy rests and found 5 no hands rests. Probably more like a 6c+. Tufa was wet. Third route from Boulder.

Trying this at dusk, with minimal light for seeing footers and a hard cross move to a finger slicing pocket, is not ideal. Also, people shit here...

Not a bad warm up, if you know where to go. Couple of damp holds made it tricky to onsight though.

Third day on, no skin, not a lot of energy...but i got there in the end! I was struggling but a borrowed kneepad from Daniel to use a bomber kneebar, was what i needed to fight my way to the anchor, on the 3rd go. I've never looked forward to a rest day more than i am today..

This thing is the steepest and probably the best 7a/23 i have been on. There were some damp holds and one very wet tufa that cost me the onsight but i was more than happy to go up again

Not the end of day onsight i was looking for.... I got spanked on this! It was really burly at the grade but good fun.
