Ascents in Fishermans Wall

fun little warm up

nice easy short route. If I remember correctly all moves relatively easy /straight forward but big. climbed this to set up a top rope to work on Short Circuit.

couldn't work our way past the hard moves in the middle of the route. hopefully can convince Eli to come and work on this again with me.

Pretty hard moves at the top. Was climbing it in the dark though so maybe another day I'll give it a go in the light. Still definitely pretty hard tho hah

Didn't trust my feet for the moves and rested in various places before being able to see the holds. Definitely needs a clean but I had nothing with me. Climbed it whilst it was getting pretty dark also

Very dirty had a brush to clean

Easy untill the max span left hand crimp

Second go and my foot slipped after clipping the third bolt. This is meant to be the warm up Very muggy conditions not helping.

Warm up. I think this could have been quite a nice (short) route 30+ years ago. But the rock has flaked off quite a bit and it seems to have degraded the climbing somewhat. It also needed a lot of scrubbing to get rid of the lichen, so my onsight attempt turned into a cleaning session after the second bolt.

Yuck.

Did some moves on top rope after climbing through the mud and lichen on the 19 with which it shares the anchor. Pretty nice line actually, for a short route! Definitely this one has been scrubbed the best of the 4 routes on this wall. I thought the moves were pretty fun with some sidepull action, a 2-finger crimp, a bad sloper-crimp, etc. 👍🏼😬
