Summary

Bigwall limestone gorge next to the road. Technical, difficult climbs.

Topo: https://pdfcoffee.com/bicaztoporover10pdf-pdf-free.html

Description

Initially started as a multi-pitch aid climbing area with lots of historical routes. Later sport climbing was added.

Most of the older routes/sectors are in complete disarray but are displayed for historical reasons.

Approach

If you are coming from Piatra Neamț then it starts after you pass the Bicaz-Chei village. Or if you are coming from Gheorgheni it starts in the Lacu Roșu village.

Where to stay

There are plenty places to stay in Lacu Roșu. The climbers' most visited place however is an isolated place with camping area called GyopárKert. It belongs to a guy named Istvan and it's located right after the tunnel (when you come from Bicaz-Chei), after you pass the tourist shops there's a bridge on the right side, go past it and you will see a sign: GyopárKert, ask the people at the tourist shops for his contact info.

Ethic

Keep clean, no trashing. Modifying routes in any way is forbidden without the consent of the local community. Creating new chipped holds is strictly forbidden. Dry tooling is allowed only in Cheile Bicăjelului area.
