Description

Aries Butte (pronounced 'beaut') is a beaut pyramid of slabby, white sandstone, located in east Zion. It contains an easy long climb away from the crowds. Remember to give way to bighorn sheep.

Approach

Walk north of State Route 9 road, then look for large saddle on the right. Aries Butte is to the north east of the saddle, near a lone tree.

Ethic

The rock is very soft sandstone, don't climb when wet
