We thought we were gonna have a quick run up the route and be back for lunch. However, the approach instructions in the book were vague and we spent a long time doubting the sketchy rappel approach into the bay. Eventually we began the route, and soon after it came into the sun, and remained in full sun until the end of the (supposedly cold and cloudy) day. Sweating off the slimpers on P2 I realised that the route may prove a bit more difficult than expected. Heavy rains the days before had also made many holds just a little less trustworthy and more mobile than usual. The apparent disappearance of a crux hold on the final pitch (fresh scar visible), 2 or 3 bolts from the top (now techy 6c I reckon), proved too much and cracked me. My sweaty hands and the rock's powder coating from the previous days of storms led me to eventually create a clipstick out of a handy branch and the ear string of a Covid mask stuffed in the backpack. After that and an hour of unexpected and dubious scrambling to descend, we were happy for the cold beers waiting in the van.

The route is classic for its exposure, atmosphere and position. There's a lot of dubious rock and the descent is long and airy, but it's still 100% classic and worth the effort.

Soaked up the very last November sunlight (literally) in this beauty. Felt even better than last time; the start is still a bit scary, though. I went directly over the last bolt this time which seemed even easier than on the right along the little crack. Marvellous pockets. Didn't find a good place for a nut in the runout to the summit this time. Placed a bad nut which came out after a meter. But it's not hard up there, just take care not to rip anything off.
