Took longer than expected due to party of 4 ahead. Was waiting at the top of pitch 6 for a while before swapping to Randy Rabbit Ridge to finish up the last three pitches on that (so that we were not holding up a party of 2 behind us) Overall, enjoyable climbing, pitch 6 was easily my favourite, maybe one day I’ll try the last two pitches.

Bloody brilliant day out. Managed to be very efficient finding our way in and up the first five pitches before 11 am. Proudly onsighted the opening boulder problem only to snap off a thumb press while resting above, take a nice whipper, and have to do it all again. All the higher-graded pitches were great value. Made the mistake of climbing up to the roof for the traverse, which complicated clipping the middle bolt. Actual crux for me was the last two bolts of P7. After all the endless jug hauling and making it this far up, suddenly it turns to shitty slopers. Took the mother of all whippers trying to clip and sailed a long way back down. Definitely made harder by doing it in full, sweaty sun by that point and also running out of quick draws on the front loops of my harness. Anyway, despite all the fearmongering and growing levels of worry after reading about other people's epics, we had a blast! Thoroughly enjoyed the reading material in the emergency bin too - may all of Mel's dreams come true.

Had been worried about finding the raps for the first time but it was easy enough. The climb itself was technical up the first few pitches, while not particularly exposed. The last two 18s were excellent ironstone jugging, with a bit more exposure. All in all a great day out!

Last route of what turned out to be a massive day. The "Quad Crown", the four easiest pierces multis all the way to the top (i.e. including top pitch of mirrorball), self-supported in a very underwhelming time of 14.5 hrs car-to-car. Had to battle to get her done towards the end there as cramps and foot pain settled in, thanks for the quality banter and being an excellent climbing partner all day Matt King

This pitch was The starting move was a bit tough to commit to but once I went for it and stood up it was jug city and flowy moves up in the sky almost to the top. I wasn't expecting the top out to have a final cruxy move but it kept things interesting for sure, especially when I was one draw short and had to repurpose a locker... What an adventure! It was a great mixture of thoughtful moves for the first 3 pitches and then headwall glory for the last 3. Overall the climb was easier than I expected (phew) but I did have an unfortunate lapse in concentration/decision making skills whilst leading P2 and made a sketchy move above the ledge mid pitch. I fell a decent way onto a spikey tree. Sorry tree. I was a bit shaken up but I managed to pull it together and keep going. Bunny Bucket was very enjoyable even with a flesh wound Thanks Grace for being my rope wife! Can't wait for our next trip to the Bluies!

Finally taking Adam for his 20th birthday climb up BBB a few days shy of his 22nd birthday! Climbed as 2 groups of 2: Me and Jack; Adam and Casey. Left the car approx 8:15am and back by 3:25pm; got to lunch ledge around 12:20pm. Waited about an hour until I started climbing once we got to the start. A LOT of people on it today! 4 people in front and 2 that passed us on lunch ledge simul climbing. Overall, probably 2 or so hours of waiting (at the start, lunch ledge and then at most anchors) but who cares when you’re having a good time and the climbing is super fun and cruisy! Jack lead odds and I lead evens, except we simul climbed 4/5 and I was in front and “linked” them. Remembered the juggy head wall but my goodness, I couldn’t stop smiling up P7! Realised I left my keys in Adam’s car so our car shuffle didn’t work out as intended, woops. Thanks to Alex/Hannah for the lift down though!!

This.... This was a damn epic and a half. But does anything ever go to plan on a multi-pitch journey? Probably not. We underestimated the journey, didn't respect the sheer magnitude of what it is to embark on a multi-pitch epic with 3 groups of 2. Got lost on the way to the abseil, but eventually found the stream, had our rope stuck on the first abseil, managed to get it free, got off the ground on the most ridiculous start move for an 18 probably 2 hours later than planned. And shenanigans with anchors, radios running out of battery, not enough head torches. Oh and the wind... The wind was unrelenting and freezing cold. We sure chose the best time of year for it. Ended up on an interesting free solo in the wrong direction in the dark but eventually found the right path. We topped out 2 hours after sunset all safe and sound. And then the trek out... Trying to find a poorly established track in pitch black, another conundrum, ended up bush bashing towards the main road until we hit the track and followed it out. Lessons learned a plenty... Probably will end up there again, once the shock wears off.
