Really hard to protect. I bitched out on the first go because I tried to place the crucial nut before the crux and fucked it completely and below me was like a 0.2 in a detached flake as the entire flake section is all detached so I was like FUCKEN TAAAAAKE. Second go because this was after the like fucken 6 burns on kiss me deadly literally every time I’d clip my biceps would cramp stuck so fell on the crux. Great climbing though!

	20	★★ Rites Of Passage - avec Michael Moore 1 Trad Rapped in and scrubbed what I thought was the line. Got to second bolt and ventured right into nothing, footer broke and fell. Jugged up the rap line and did some lichen archaeology and found the real line and then resumed from the second bolt clean to the top. The crux is start of the arete at the 4th bolt and pretty happy to flash the real line. Honestly tempted to log the whole route as a flash just to see if @best_of_thecrag pulls me up on it 2 Trad Kept going up this stellar hand crack as a single pitch. This one has been on the list for ages and I should have done it years ago, its one of the best routes in the gorge! It climbs well and it's in a top spot

Was totally ruined after attempting kiss me deadly. Had a few comical prawn cramps. Got all the moves except the crux at the second bolt. Recommend morning shade and not sweltering arvo direct sun. Maybe 23

Did the traverse fine and then gassed myself on the mantle. Needed to just get much deeper and palm up and fight a bit more. Don't think my commitment level was the same with time limit and heat. I think I was expecting it to feel a lot easier the second time round.

On a tight time mission, rushed the lower crux and pulled on a draw. The top crux felt really different the second time and still a bit desperate, the karate chop jam does not feel secure but its over quick enough.

One top rope refresh lap went well so back on lead. First attempt was very jittery, hadn't been on it in a few months and the last time I took a huge gear ripping whipper. Still made it to the end of the crux before coming off. Tried again and made it to the last 2 moves of the red point crux up high with much less jitters so pretty happy with that for first sesh of the year.

Crack was damp from the rain yesterday, did dry out a fair bit but still felt a bit meh. Still managed to match previous high point and fall on the last hard move. Only so many of those before she should be a goer

Fuaaaak, foot popped out of the crack on the last move of the red point crux. If that stuck I would be in with a really high chance of sending. Anyway can’t be sad with a highpoint.

Oof, new high point about halfway up the head wall, pumped out too much to clip the gear. One hang placing the gear.

The move to 3rd bolt wigged me out even more on second?! Had a couple rests, at crux and then again on the easier slab at the end I was very juiced

Alec had to bail just before we got on it. The froth was bubbling over when we found this, lots of pinches and tufa features and wavey rock, mushrooms which are actually solid. Was guessing it was about 18 but as I climbed it kept ratcheting up. Clipping the 3rd bolt is spicy, may need to be moved. Fell at crux at 5th bolt, so pumpy! Easily one of the best routes at gara

Back on the lead attempts. Stuck the crux from the ground but was a bit shook and the head melted and came off. Route done in two parts on lead now, gittin there.

Weird sesh. Head wasn’t really in it and I think having 3 weeks away from it just needed another tr rehearsal sesh. Although managed to break a huge chunk off the side of the crack at the end of the crux. Climbs a little different, maybe slightly harder, still goes. Linked from the last 2 moves of the new crux to the top so idk.

oof whadda day. First day trying to lead it, went really well. New high point but also took a gear ripping whipper, nothing too bad just banged my knees up a bit on the swing back into the wall. Jumped but on tr after that to really dial in the redpoint crux. Did that sequence countless times and linked it to the top whilst very fatigued so good for the psyche.

Slightly higher high point that last time, much cleaner sequence with less faffing. Sagged at the fist crack. Powered through the rest with a little scream, much easier than trying to be slow and steady. Classic!

Got to about 2/3 and pumped out. Finished with 3 hangs. All the moves are there but it is deceptively steep. A truly superb route and its crazy that routes were done either side decades ago and this gem was just left untouched

With some know how from Brendan found the walk in a million times better and quicker. Rapped in and replaced the old rusty anchors. Cleaned up and ready to be worked on over winter, psyched!

Steeper than it looks, no jambs just laybacking. Flash pumped and hung, but once you figure out the sweet spots the crux is over way too soon. I got onto the top of the roof after some gardening and there is a big dead tree before you can get to savage amusement. SA needs some big cleanup to finish. Ended up back climbing and I think I did it in better style than the ascent
