Not quite as 'classic' as we were expecting but still good fun. Even got to use the homemade BBB's (Bloody Big Bro's).

Spicy and very high quality.

We'd eye this off while bouldering underneath it so didn't have a great sense of scale and thought it would be mostly offwidth and I was keen due to my hand still not being ready for crimping. It ended up climbing quite nicely, it felt like a small segment of a much larger multi pitch

This route is freakin awesome! such good climbing and probably my favourite at the grade/style at Gara. Not sure why but upon rapping in and cleaning up a few holds (possibly hasn't been climbed in over 25 years?) we thought that this might be pretty straight forward. Not so. Was going okay until I blew the onsight by breaking off a hold. Had a few rests after that working some of the more committing moves. Had a second go on top rope and was stoked to get it clean. I'd love to get back on this and lead it clean from the ground up. Get on it, Gara classic!

Hardest 21 at Gara. Did Carol grade this? I reckon its a 23 at least and possibly 24. 21 pffft! A scenic and exposed very cool climb on small crimpers. Classic Gara at it's best. Will have to come back and work it for a clean send.

Had a bit of trouble finding the start (would've helped if I'd read the description properly) :-P From the two belayer/anchor carrots follow 3 carrots up the slabby scoop to the R (there is great potential further to the left for better slab). Cool moves through the overlap and L bring you to the base of the next slab which is thin and cruxy and gets the grade I guess. Two more carrots here up the slabby arete. The crack at the top is beautiful and eats up red (#1), yellow (#2) and Blue (#3) BD cams.

If this was a boulder on top of the gorge rim peeps would be all over it! A fun little number with no chalk and one cam

It's because of routes like this why I love trad. What a bunch of frothy sickness! Had such a good time on this route. It has a bit of everything, laybacks, jams, a roof, and and off width to boot! Felt better at the top than my last attempt. Take medium to large and extra large cams and plenty of slings to avoid rope drag. Thanks for the catch and the psych Skippy!

Utterly stoked to second this clean, one of the hardest brawls I've had with a route. The first layback gets you warm quickly. Was able to rest properly this time in the first roof, busted across and then managed to find an almost comfortable full lie down rest with a knee bar holding me in. Pulled the lip expecting to pop and just held on breathing hard and trying to slow down for the rest. Just lay down for 5 mins at the top trying to breath and not dry retch

We both rapped of in different directions seeing what else was around. Couldn't leave this nice little hand and fist crack undone. We hadn't planned on climbing anything so the only pro we had was a single blue cam - a second cam would have been great. Clipped the jumar on the rap line as a workaround

A fun route, with everything where you need it!

Wow, what a battle. I think I spent a few hours on this and had a few cracks at the lip before getting it. Just when I thought it was going to be all over the off-width began and had me taking off plenty of skin and wishing I took a camel back. I was cotton mouth and utterly spent at the top and loved every minute of it

This thing is great. It looks offwidthy but has surprising side pulls and holds all over the place.

Wow! The chossy start is a little off-putting but this thing is great quality after that. The traverse is good, the roof crack is great, pulling the lip is an utterly sick move getting almost inverted, and the sustained offwidth after that is just plain sickening I laybacked most of the offwidth cause that's how I roll, but it burnt me out, when I finally dragged my arse over top I wanted to chuck. Rope drag was bad, needs lots of long slings.

Comic assault in the drizzle, everything was completely wet and yet we kept at it. Every time I come back here I'm surprised how steep it is

Sick! I haven't climbed here in roughly 17 years, and the last time was hilarious as a complete bumbly with no guidebook attempting one of these routes and failing epically. Maybe half a dozen burns. Is great to siege a hard sports route, it's been a long long time...

First lead attempt, got to arete and 4th bolt and greased off but was pretty happy with that. Found the juicy arete jug hold which I completely missed the first time. I really should have done it again clean...

First go on top rope, fell on the stretchy sideways move to the arete and rest on the crux of the arete at the top

Crux moves felt better this time around. Still have to psych myself for the move up and through the overlap - some staunch layback/pinching, high opposing smearing and teeth gritting get you through it and into a beautiful but nails finger line. Will need a serious bowl of weet-bix (and a few more T.R's) before having a 'proper' non-top-roped go at this.

Perhaps unsurprisingly this is a pure crimp fest! The start of the climb is quite fun before the vertical section starts. Made a few links through the cruxy very static crimpy section directly above the horizontal break. The top half is a little smoother - not sure it would be after linking what lies beneath. And then there's the view! What an awesome route!

Worth every bit of the epic farmers friends battle during the hike in. Start is a little run-out. 7 bolt plates, 0.75 and a size 3 Camalot was all we needed. Great climb with excellent views!

Need some more Weet-Bix for this one. Sea Cliff delivers again - Fantastic climbing

Even sweeeeter. Great moves, bit of everything and then it gets better. The extended top-out is icing on the cake.

Sweeeeeet climb. Juggy, powerful right was the crux for me. A little overgrown, but Alan soon located all the holds.
