The Dolomites (Italian: Dolomiti; Ladin: Dolomites; German: Dolomiten; Venetian: Dołomiti: Friulian: Dolomitis) are a mountain range located in northeastern Italy. They form a part of Southern Limestone Alps and extend from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley (Pieve di Cadore) in the east. The northern and southern borders are defined by the Puster Valley and the Sugana Valley (Val Sugana). The Dolomites are nearly equally shared between the provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol and Trentino.

There are also mountain groups of similar geological structure that spread over the River Piave to the east – Dolomiti d'Oltrepiave; and far away over the Adige River to the west – Dolomiti di Brenta (Western Dolomites). There is also another smaller group called Piccole Dolomiti (Little Dolomites) located between the provinces of Trentino, Verona and Vicenza (see the map).

One national park and many other regional parks are located in the Dolomites. In August 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Dolomiti di Brenta are a separate group of dolomite mountains west of the river Adige.

They are far less developed than the South Tyrolean dolomites; many of the routes require 2 days to climb.

The Cima del Grostè (sometimes also called Cima Grostè) is, according to the map, a 2898 meter high peak (Italian: Cima) in the Brenta group, a mountain range of the southern limestone Alps in the Italian province of Trentino. It is the eponym of the Grostè massif in the northern part of the Brenta. The mountain has a flattened shape to the north and west, only to the east it shows a 300 meter high wall of main dolomite.

Soste a fix. Si percorrono i primi tre tiri della normale al Castelletto fino alla prima grande cengia. Si percorre la cengia verso est fino a raggiungere l'evidente spigolo.

Via dedicata a Davide Pinamonti, caduto scalando la parete Nord di Punta Massari nel giugno del 2011. Quasi tutte le soste con un chiodo e uno spit, un passaggio in A0 con quattro spit e cordone. Può essere utile una staffa.

Via che percorre lo spigolo sud-est del Campanile Basso. Aperta nel 1937 da Pino Fox e altri forti alpinisti dell'epoca con l'ausilio di 9 chiodi. Si percorrono i primi due tiri della via Normale per poi spostarsi a sinistra sullo spigolo.

Bella parete a due passi dal sentiero Bogani verso il Rifugio ai Brentei

Soste attrezzate con chiodi, attenzione alla roccia in alcuni tratti. Sconsigliata dopo pioggia abbondante. L'attacco è a destra di un enorme masso incastrato nel colatoio, targhetta un po nascosta alla base.

Valli Giudicarie is an area of Western Trentino, which includes the upper courses of the rivers Sarca and Chiese. It is located at the base of the Brenta group and offers amazing views and climbing.
