German: Ruhig und idyllisch gelegenes, bereits als klassisch zu bezeichnendes Gebiet, welches eher selten von Kletterern besucht wird. Die Absicherung ist meist gut. Auf wenige Routen trifft dies jedoch nicht zu. Eine weitere nette Klettermöglichkeit bietet sich gleich in der Nähe der Civetta: Der Turm jenseits des Tales.
English: This quiet and idyllic climbing area is one of the classic climbing spots in this region. Protection is good on most routes, the rock is perfect and pitches are up to 35 long. This fact makes this wall to one of Wachau's best climbing spots. Once again note that in summer time it can get very hot!

German: 300m nach dem westlichen Ende des Dürnsteiner Tunnels befindet sich ein grösserer Parkplatz. Von hier nach Dürnstein zurück spazieren und nach ein paar Metern links in eine kleine Strasse biegen. Diese gerade entlang (über den Bahnübergang), vorbei an den letzten 2 Häusern. Nun endet der asphaltierte Weg. Ab jetzt immer gerade aus. Dies ist ebenfalls der Weg zum Vogelbergsteig, jedoch bei der ersten scharfen Linkskurve nicht diese nehmen, sondern immer weiter gerade aus in den Talgraben bis zu der Beschriftung Civetta den Pfad links bergauf. Wenn man dem Talgraben weiter folgt, kommt man nach ein paar Minuten zum Turm jenseits des Tales.
English: After parking at km 122 on the Danube-Bundesstrasse 3 (three houses after the tunnel in Dürnstein coming from Krems) walk into the town of Dürnstein and turn left after a few meters (Green sign: "Vogelbergsteig"). Head straight ahead, crossing the railway, into the woods. Don't take the first sharp left turn (Vogelbergsteig), but keep walking straight ahead into the Talgraben. After 5 minutes follow the small path upwards (marked loosely with red points).

On the 44,000 meters of climbing researched for this book, epochal alpine milestones mingle with enjoyable new route creations. Climbing legends such as Albert Precht, Klaus Hoi and Heinz Zak comment on their passion for steep rock. Routes by climbing greats from long ago, such as Angelo Dibona or Hias Rebitsch, have been accurately recorded in line with modern requirements. There is also plenty of space dedicated to new routes secured with bolts by creative talents such as Ralf Sussmann, Rudi Kühberger and the author himself. 40 long routes with at least 20 pitches, where you can clip bolts in keeping with the spirit of the times, but sometimes also have to make do with rusty protection.
