The Very Large Boulder. As its name implies, this single boulder sitting alone in a paddock has a few lines on it, and room for more.
From the Donger follow the East Rd passed the turn for the "Swamp Boulders". Just after the turn for the Swamp Boulders the road gets a little rough as it goes through some trees. Drive slow! The road will be slashed as you come out of the trees and start to head south through large, flat open paddock.
Stay on the road until you get to another gate that will most likely be open and can remain open, where you should be able to see the "VLB" to the west (right). The slashed road branches at this gate. (The north face of "Goat Dome" is also visible from this point to the west)
To get to the "VLB" head to the right. When you come to the low wet spot in the road near the tree, check to see your vehicle can get through it or not. At this point you can walk to the "VLB" anyway.
If you have been to a Festivus before, you have met the dogs: Wedge, Bruiser, Bubbles and Cloud.
Many moons ago Wedge and Bubbles conceived Bruiser on top of the VLB. We were not aware Bubbles was "in season" but Wedge was and made his move on top of the VLB. We were ready to leave when we noticed them "locked" intimately together after the deed was done. Wedge heard the quad start up and just about leapt off the VLB with poor Bubbles in tow! Not sure which of them would have been hurt more? We had to yell at him to stop and we remained there until the lovers detached from one another.
