The Central Weald, situated on the borders of Kent and East Sussex, is home to a cluster of crags known as Southern Sandstone. This area is highly sought after by climbers living in the London and South East region. Of the several crags in this area, Harrison’s Rocks and Stone Farm Rocks are both owned by the BMC.
Key Points:
Climbing activities are limited to top-rope, bouldering, or solo climbing.
When setting up a top-rope, use a non-stretch (static) rope and slings, and ensure the karabiner hangs over the edge of the crag.
Avoid letting moving ropes come into contact with the rock.
Before each climb, clean your shoes to prevent rock erosion and make climbing easier.
After finishing a climb, walk off instead of lowering off or abseiling. Use chalk sparingly.
Do not climb on wet rock as it can cause permanent damage.
Harsh boulder brushes and toothbrushes are strictly prohibited.
